    Hello From Colorado

    Hey Gang,

Made it out to Denver with no problems (thank goodness).  Have spent time hiking the front range mountains and adjusting to the altitude (and time change).  Last week climbed Bear Peak near Boulder, a three and half mile hike that gained 2,800 feet in elevation.  I felt that for four days.  Ventured into a metal detecting shop in Golden recently.  Exceptional shop stocking Whites, Fisher, Teknetics, Tesoro and Garrets.  Spent time with Bill Chapman (?) the owner.  They find a lot of US Calvary relics including Custers army.  I was invited to their club, but was unable to attend that nite.  Their club has a DERT team (Denver Evidence Recovery Team) and HERT team (Historical Evidence Recovery Team) that works with the local police and archeological groups.

I have a lot to learn with the history and opportunities out here.  They spend a lot of time chasing gold and relics and the landscape is vast.  Unfortunately, my equipment has not made it out here from SC as of yet.   If it was here, the new job has kept me too busy to focus on much else.  I hope that everyone is finding the treasures their hearts desire and getting the time to get out.  Contnue to post finds and stories on here so that i can keep up with everyone.

    Happy Diggin

    Re: Hello From Colorado

Hey Trace, it was good to here from you.  I'm glad that you are doing well.  Sounds like you are in a place that has much to offer the Treasure Hunter.  I went out Saturday morning with Rick Baker to Chester SC and hunted an older house yard and a vacant lot next door.  I did very well considering this was coin hunting and I haven't done much of that of late.  I did find a 41 quarter, 2 insurance tokens dated 1939, 1 silver nickle and 2 wheat cents.  I have always wanted to go to Arizona and search for gold nuggets.  You should be able to find you some in the area that you are located now.  Good luck there.  Keep us posted on what is happening with you and if you get to go to the club out there and they do things differently than we do and you like their process let us know.  We're always open to new ideas.  Hope the new job turns out to be all that you wanted it to be and you have a great life out there.  Remember, keep in touch.  Oh by the way I heard that your spot in Lexington has been completely cleared and it is all posted now, and a  couple of guys got asked to leave a couple of weeks ago. Hope to hear from you again soon.  Until then remember

    Keep on diggin!!!!

Good to hear from you. Sounds like with all the hiking your doing that you have a lot of time. Hope the job goes well. It seems your getting in touch so that when you get ready to hunt you will have some connections.  Keep the club updated on you and your finds. Shaler
