Thought I found a real treasure

I was TH near an old falling down house back in the woods with my son when I got a signal from a strange place (under a wood pile) we knocked the pile over and duck just a few inches and found a wooden box (with hinges and a padlock).

"Hmmmm......" I thought to myself. A hidden old box with rusty hinges and a padlock deep in the woods under a pile of what used to be a wood stack (this house was last lived in back in 1976 - seems the owner died and left nothing to anyone, o rhad no living relatives) after 32 years the house is invisible to the dirt road that runs in fron of it in woods that are not traveled often. We found lots of sardine cans, and other trash, but this must be something. Geeked

Got it home and removed the hinges to get inside and Vwalla!!!!....Some old magazines, some small levels, a box of guitar strings, a spoon, a can opener and a birth Certificate and some insurance papers!!!   Angry Embarrassed Ick!

I also went to the beach early in the am during low tide and found remains of a screen door frame adn a black and white rock that gives a signal even with the filters on. I can't even find an lsot penny. Crying

I suppose th thrill of the hunt will become more interesting IF I ever find anything Crying

Re: Hey, wait - that is a REAL treasure!

No doubt about it, that qualifies as a cashe!  Maybe it didn't contain a fortune inside, but it was prpobably the owner's most valuable possessions.  Keep it all together - it will make a neat conversation piece for years to come.
