    First time Beach Hunting

Just got back from taking the wife to the beach for our anniversary and she graciously allowed me to detect for a few hours while she layed out on the beach and got BURNEDCrying Altough relic hunting is the way to go for me, I enjoyed walking the beach and scanning the sand. I did manage to pick up about $5.00 in change and a mens wedding band, silver I think. Altough I really enjoyed talking to ALOT of people about detecting one thing I did learn is to not make eye contact if you do not want to answer a ton of questions. And there is always one wiseguy who throws change to see if you are going to pick it all up. And luckily I had one such idiot. After I passed by where he threw the change I hear a loud Hey You Missed some, So I patiently turned around, scaned the spot, scooped up the change, walked over to him and dumped it on his lap and said its going to take a lot more than that for me to entertain you with my detector, then walked away. He did have It coming he was kind of a jerk. Take care all and I will see you soon.

    Jeff:

Are you sure the ring is not Platinum or White Gold???  Silver wedding bands are kind of uncommon.

    Re: First time Beach Hunting

    Hello,

I am new to the forum.  I thought it might be a good place to spend some time.  I spend the winters on Hilton Head so some beach hunting is in my future there.

I try to have a little fun with the constant "Have you found any treasure yet?" questions.  I have a handful of replica gold and silver Spanish cobs, reales, and dabloons.  They ask and I pull out a handful to show them and say I've found a few and walk off.  There are a few old guys still looking for their teeth in the surf.

     Never gets old.

    Daryl

    Am I having fun yet?
