Historian to talk at local Sons of Confederate Veterans meeting

Hey guys here's some info I thought you might be interested in.

The Pvt. Caldwell Camp #31 of the Sons of Confederate veterans will meet Thursday June 10 at 7PM at the McCelvey Historical Center in York. The center is located at 212 East Jefferson St. in downtown York S.C.

The guest speaker will be noted historian, author and lecturer Jack Marlar.  Widely known for his expertise in all facets of the War Between the States, Marlar will talk about the grandeur of the Old South.  The public is welcome to attend.

Call Kirk Carter for further information at 704-806-2941

I think I will try to make this one.  It should be interesting. Hope to see you there.

    Keep on diggin!!!!

Re: Historian to talk at local Sons of Confederate Veterans meeting

Well guys, here is my review of the talk the historian gave at the Sons of Confederate Veterans meeting.

Not very good.  Not much history involved in what was said.  His talk was mostly about how great the
South was and how bad the North was.  I decided that even though I would like to know if I have any Confederate heritage, if I did I don't think that I would care to be a part of this group.  I think they are still fighting the war and it's still not the Souths fault. I invited several people to hear this guy talk and I appologise to them.  But I guess if you don't go, you don't know.  And another thing, when I go to meetings of other groups or clubs it makes me really appreciate just how great our club is.  Thanks for letting me be a part of it.
