Hey David,  I have found that if you want to hunt for coins and jewelry, go to any older church that has a yard large enough to spend some time in. Be sure to ask for permission first. Most folks will let you hunt if you ask.  If you are into hunting for relics you could do some research on the towns close by to see if there was anything going on in the rev war. There was some Civil War activity in western North Carolina.  Just takes a little research. Morganton North Carolina had a place called Camp Vance which was a training camp for Confederate soldiers. I'm sure you could find several other places. It just takes a little research and reading.

Good luck to you and remember,

    Keep on diggin!!

I see allot of people goto city parks to look. How do they get away with that? My city says no. the problem is not detecting, its digging holes.

Is my city just anal or is it that way every where.

Always check with town and or county officials to see what is allowed and what is not. Here in Rock Hill its OK to detect the parks and property along streets between the sidewalk and road.Sounds like Seneca is just like national forest......you can detect all you want!Just dont dig!!  I would check with the other nearby towns too.You may be able to detect in Wallhalla, Westminister or Pickens. Clemson is close also. You have a lot of lakes there too! There are some good finds around and in the ole swimming holes! Tunneltown would be sweet but Im not sure what or how much is on national forest. You may want to check into that....I was told there was some private land really close.  We do a lot of camping at Cherry Hill campground through the summer and always I have my detector. If ya wanna get together and do some detecting let me know.Good luck!

    Hi David,

I do alot of detecting in the Anderson area. I hunt most of the schools and a few parks. We should get together and do a little hunting.
